Day 1 | TALLINN Arrive in Tallinn and check in to hotel.

Day 2 | TALLINN - MOSCOW In the morning we have a walking tour of the beautiful old city of Tallinn. Free afternoon before we take the overnight train to Moscow. (B)

Day 3 | MOSCOW A morning walking tour of Moscow and a free afternoon to further explore the capital of Russia. (B)

Day 4 | MOSCOW A full day to discover Moscow's many treasures. (B)

Day 5 | SERGIEV POSAD - PETROZAVODSK Today we travel to Sergiev Posad, the spiritual and religious capital for millions of Russians. We travel by overnight train to Petrozavodsk. (B)

Day 6 | PETROZAVODSK A free morning to explore this beautiful city, capital of the Republic of Karelia. In the afternoon we go by boat on Lake Onega to visit Kizhi Island with its amazing wooden buildings, including the famous 22 domed Cathedral of the Transfiguration. (B)

Day 7 | KIVACH RESERVE - ST PETERSBURG Today we visit nearby Kivach nature reserve. We spend the morning walking through some of the wilderness that Karelia is famed for, including the Kivach waterfall, the largest valley waterfall in Europe. Then we visit the Martialsyne Spa, Russia's oldest health resort, established by Peter the Great. In the evening we take the overnight train to St Petersburg. (B)

Day 8 | ST PETERSBURG Morning tour of this stunning city, free afternoon to explore.

Day 9 | ST PETERSBURG Day tour to nearby Petrodvorets, a spectacular palace built by Peter the Great and famed for its avenue of fountains. (B)

Day 10 | ST PETERSBURG A full day to further explore St Petersburg, or visit the beautiful palaces and garden complexes of Pushkin and Pavlovsk. (B)

Day 11 | SAVONLINNA Today we leave Russia and cross into Finland's beautiful lakes district. Our base for exploring the area is Savonlinna, situated between lake Haapavesi and lake Pihlajavesi. Free afternoon to enjoy the stunning scenery and visit Olavinlinna Castle, where the month long opera festival is held each year. (B)

Day 12 | SAVONLINNA This morning we take our bikes on the local ferry and spend the morning cycling around this amazing landscape. Free afternoon in Savonlinna, perhaps try a Finnish sauna, including the icy dip in water at the end! There are over 2 million saunas in Finland and no visit to this northern country is complete until you've tried at least one. (B)

Day 13 | HELSINKI Today we travel to the capital of Finland, Helsinki. In the afternoon we have a walking tour of this cosmopolitan city. (B)

Day 14 | HELSINKI - TALLINN A free morning in Helsinki before we travel across the Baltic Sea to Tallinn. (B)
