The perfect holiday for those who want to see the best of Cape Town and the Western Cape but do not want to move accommodation every night. You are based in a lovely guest-house in the heart of the city for your stay with plenty of optional tours available. There is a wealth of places to go and things to see. The winelands, Atlantic coast, Cape of Good Hope are all within easy reach, as are the restaurants and attractions of Cape Town, one of the worlds most beautiful cities. At the right time of year there is also the chance to go whale-watching, and throughout the year can visit the Penguins at Boulder Bay. |
Day 1 | Depart the UK on scheduled flights in the late afternoon/evening.
| Day 2 | Arrive in Cape Town in the morning. After picking up your car you drive the short distance to your lodge where you will be based for the next week.
| Day 3 | A day to perhaps explore the waterfronts restaurants and shops.
| Day 4 | Today, why not take the Cable Car up Table Mountain to enjoy the views both acoss the city and south down towards the Cape.
| Day 5 | Maybe roam further afield, heading east to Hermanus to see whether there are any whales in towards the shore. Return via the Winelands with a visit to a vineyard or two.
| Day 6 | A visit to the lighthouse at the Cape of Good Hope makes for an interesting excursion, visiting en route the Penguin colony at Boulder Bay.
| Day 7 | A day to relax, shop or perhaps head off by boat to visit Robbin Island, the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for much of his sentence.
| Day 8 | Drive to the airport in time for your evening departure back to the UK.

Individually decorated with bright prints and fabrics, they offer the comforts of an en-suite bathroom, shower and toilet, and the choice of single or double beds.
Each suite is equipped with tea and coffee conveniences, telephone and TV, and laundry facilities, are available. Secure parking is allocated to each suite.
Afton Grove offers a haven where you can truly relax in the privacy of your own little garden cottage, in tranquil surroundings and in an hospitable, friendly atmosphere.
Afton Grove is run by a family passionate about the outdoors. Avid bird watchers and enthusiastic horse lovers. A wetland birding route, including some 70 species, starts within easy walking distance and Afton Grove itself boasts a list of over 100 species identified during the past 25 years. The Spenglers will gladly assist you with arrangements to enjoy the magnificent sights of the area and to discover its magic.
Our cosy dining room sets the scene for a breakfast of magnificent proportions. Farmstyle or Continental, our guests are treated to the best and freshest available golden-yolked free-range eggs, homebaked breads and jams and generous helping of their favourite fare.
In summer, the swimming pool overlooking the garden and soaring mountains often forms the centre of activities. However, for those guests who prefer a little privacy, they are given all the space they need.
