Hiking in Cilento and Amalfi A rewarding hike combining Italys beautiful Amalfi Coast and the more rugged and remote Cilento National Park
South of Naples lies the famed Amalfi Coast, where pretty villages and terraced fields cling to steep cliffs above the sparkling Mediterranean. Further south again is a more mountainous region, almost untouched by the 21st century. This is the Cilento National Park where newly-opened trails along the undeveloped coast and through the wild mountain scenery allow walkers to explore this superb region. The rolling hills along the coast, as well as the inland valleys, are scattered with ancient villages, monasteries and other mediaeval remains. We move on to a new base every two or three days, all small local hotels or traditional rural accommodation (agriturismo), allowing us to explore each area, its landscape, its culture and its food at a leisurely pace. Towards the end of the trip we enjoy five days on the Amalfi Coast for a few more stunning walks and some free time to soak up the relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere.

On some trips it is not possible to guarantee single accommodation for the whole tour; where this is the case further information and prices can be found in the Trip Notes. If you would like a single room or tent on a particular holiday you should contact the office for details. Where we are unable to guarantee single accommodation you may be able to arrange and pay for it locally. If you are a smoker we ask you not to smoke in your room or tent if sharing. Please note on certain trips single accommodation is not available due to local operational conditions.
