Hotel le Rif Blanc is a delightful 2 star hotel in the heart of pretty Monetier village. It is managed by a young English family with a rustic bar with a great atmosphere, a restaurant with wonderful food cooked by the legendery chef James, and afternoon tea French style is waiting for you after a hard days skiing. The hotel is comfortably furnished with 21 en suite bedrooms. The lifts are all of a 7 minute walk from the hotel so you can start skiing immediately you finish breakfast!There is also a minibus available to our clients to transfer elsewhere in the valley
Monetier is at the end of the valley of Serre Chevalier and is unspoilt, very French and set in a truly spectacular position above the rest of the valley. There are many small cafes, good restaurants, local shops and hotels in the village.
Serre Chevalier is the name of the local area and ski domain. It is one of the most exhilarating places to ski as the domain is bigger than many better known resorts as it encompasses nearby Alpe D'Huez and Les Deux Alpes. It is also a great place to ski no matter what your level as there is something for everyone here - there are 250 kms of pistes all of which is covered in the one ski pass! The region retains a traditional charm which is sadly lacking in many of the modern resorts. Serre Chevalier gives you a very pretty mountain experience with some fantastic skiing in a large and varied domain.
Ski Facts: Nearest airport Grenoble/Lyon/Turin with transfer times of 2 and half hours. Resort Height 1500m, 250 kms of pistes, 77 lifts and highest lift at 2830m. Monetier is at 1500m and has access to some of the more challengin skiing. There is a 4 man chairlift from Monestier to mid station. The beginners slopes are low down near the village so beginners do not have to face the dreaded chairlift at the beginning! There are plenty of blue runs accessing the whole area for beginners but for the more confident there are plenty of red and black runs including a long run over into Villeneuve. |
Day 1 | Depart London Gatwick to Grenoble (sometimes Turin depending on availability on your dates). On arrival you will be met and transferred to Serre Chevalier and the village of Monetier. Transfer time approx 2 1/2 hours. On arrival check in to your hotel in time for your evening meal. | Day 2 | Head to the ski hire shop to select your boots and skis (if you don’t take your own that is!). Pick up your ski pass and you are ready to go skiing in Serre Chevalier. | Day 3 | Serre Chevalier | Day 4 | Serre Chevalier | Day 5 | Serre Chevalier | Day 6 | Serre Chevalier | Day 7 | Serre Chevalier | Day 8 | Today return your equipment if you havent already done so and check out. 7 nights accommodation in Hotel le Rif Blanc on half board basis (based on two people sharing), flights from Gatwick, transfers to resort.
Price does not include:
lunches, ski hire ( £66 for 6 days boots and skis/board for adults), ski passes (£104 for 6 days for adults) or ski school (must be booked well in advance and around £70 pp for 6 days of morning lessons) nor any travel insurance.
