Jungfrau And Eiger Trek A spectacular traverse through Switzerlands most famous alpine scenery
This exciting hotel-based trek provides a combination of high passes, panoramic views and lush valleys that would be hard to beat anywhere in the world. The days involve some challenging walking, but each evening we descend to a welcoming Alpine village to spend the night in a cosy inn. Starting in the attractive village of Gsteig we follow the classic Alpine Pass Route through the heart of the Bernese Oberland, unquestionably the most scenic region of Switzerland. With Mont Blanc’s distant bulk behind us and the familiar sharp profile of the Matterhorn to our right, we head east and north, sometimes passing huge waterfalls cascading from rocky cliffs, sometimes crossing lonely high pastures where chamois and ibex graze among drifts of bright mountain flowers. We enjoy magnificent views of the Oberland’s most famous summits – Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau – before descending to Lauterbrunnen, a delightful village set in a dramatic, steep-sided valley. Here, before the tour ends, we have a free day – with the opportunity for an optional ride on the spectacular Jungfraujoch railway.

Group & Staff:
Min. 6, max. 16, plus leader.
