Nanda Devi And Trisul In the footsteps of Shipton and Tilman on a classic journey to the Nanda Devi massif
The area to the west of Nanda Devi, known as the Outer Sanctuary, is superb walking country, and affords magnificent panoramas of Nanda Devi, Trisul and the Badrinath group; for mountain views it is probably the finest trek in Garhwal. We follow part of the approach route used by the 1936 expedition of Shipton and Tilman, which takes us through remote villages, forests and alpine pastures. We trek to the beautiful high pastures of Bedni Bugyal, set in the shadow of the great peak of Trisul, before ascending to the Kuari Pass. This is the highlight of the trek, with outstanding views stretching across 150 miles into Tibet to the north. We end the trip at Hardwar, a holy town located on the Ganges where thousands of Hindus come on pilgrimage each year.

On some trips it is not possible to do so, we offer an optional single supplement in the price list. On some trips it is not possible to guarantee single accommodation for the whole tour; where this is the case further information and prices can be found in the Trip Notes. If you would like a single room or tent on a particular holiday you should contact the office for details. Where we are unable to guarantee single accommodation you may be able to arrange and pay for it locally. If you are a smoker we ask you not to smoke in your room or tent if sharing. Please note on certain trips single accommodation is not available due to local operational conditions.
