If you are interested in the history and people of the America West then this trip is for you. First you start in Oklahoma City visiting the National Cowboy Hall of Fame, The Stockyards & Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial.. Anadarko, headquarters for the Apache, Caddo, Delaware and Wichita tribes is the next stop on your tour. Take the short drive to Lawton and Fort Still to view the Geronimo Guardhouse and the gravesite. Tahlequah, tribal headquarters of the Cherokee Nation is another must see on the trip.. Visit the Cherokee heritage Centre and the ancient village of Tsa-la-gi and then onto Fort Gibson.

Day 1 | Arrival Oklahoma City. Collect rental car. Overnight Holiday Inn-Meridian, Oklahoma City. | Day 2 | Day of touring in Oklahoma City, visiting: National Cowboy Hall of Fame, The Stockyards & Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial. Overnight Holiday Inn-Meridian. | Day 3 | Take the I-44 to Anadarko, headquarters for the Apache, Caddo, Delaware and Wichita tribes. Take the short drive to Lawton and Fort Still. View the Geronimo Guardhouse and the gravesite. Overnight Howard Johnson Motel, Lawton.Approx mileage 126. | Day 4 | Today drive north on I-44 to Oklahoma City and then I-35 to Edmond where you pick up Historic Route 66. Stop in Arcadia to view the Round Barn, a special site along the Mother Road, travel along Route 66 to Tulsa. Overnight Hilton Hotel, Tulsa.Approx mileage 194. | Day 5 | Full day in Tulsa, time to visit the Gilcrease Museum (one of the nation's leading Western Art Collection) to view Native American, Cowboy and Scenic Western Art by Remington, Russell and Moran. Drive to Lyon's Store. Overnight the Tulsa Hilton Hotel.Approx mileage 30. | Day 6 | Drive through Osage Indian Country to Woolarc home of the Native American Ranch & Museum. In the afternoon drive to Pawhuska, tribal headquarters of the Osage Nation. Return to Tulsa for overnight as above. Approx mileage 134. | Day 7 | Drive to Tahlequah, tribal headquarters of the Cherokee Nation. Visit the Cherokee heritage Centre and the ancient village of Tsa-la-gi and then onto Fort Gibson.
