Day 1 | WARSAW Arrive in Warsaw and check in to hotel. Time to relax or explore Poland's cosmopolitan capital.

Day 2 | KRAKOW A full day to explore Warsaw, before boarding an evening train to Krakow, Poland's most beautiful city. (B)

Day 3 | KRAKOW A chance to visit Krakow's old town and Wawel Hill's famous castle and cathedral. (B)

Day 4 | KRAKOW Optional day trip to Auschwitz, now an emotional memorial to those who lost their lives in concentration camps during WWII. (B)

Day 5 | TATRA MOUNTAINS A morning visit to the fascinating Wieliczka salt mine, with its many underground chapels and sculptures, now a UNESCO world heritage sight. Later we travel by bus to Zakopane in the Tatra Mountains. (B)

Day 6 | TATRA MOUNTAINS - TORUN A full day to hike amidst the beautiful mountain scenery. Overnight train to historic Torun. (B)

Day 7 | TORUN A day to visit the Burgher's houses and Gothic churches, and explore the narrow lanes of the beautiful old centre of Torun.

Day 8 | GDANSK Travel by train to the city of Gdansk on the Baltic coast. On the way we stop to explore the castle of the Teutonic Knights in Malbork. (B)

Day 9 | GDANSK A full day to explore the Tri-City region of Gdansk, Sopot and Gydinia. Important ports since the 14th century and fashionable seaside resorts from the 19th century, the area more recently played an important role in the fall of communism. (B)

Day 10 | ELBLAG A morning to relax or explore the old buildings of Gdansk. In the afternoon we transfer by train to Elblag. (B)

Day 11 | MAZURIAN LAKES Half day cruise on the Elblag-Ostroda canal. Then after lunch we travel to Mikolajki in the Great Mazurian Lakes district. (B)

Day 12 | MAZURIAN LAKES From our base in Mikolajki we have the opportunity to hike, cycle or canoe around this beautiful region of rolling hills, forests and glacial lakes. (B)
