We have squeezed another pursuit into our original multi activity trip in the wild Pyrenees - the new sport of Arapaho (trail descents on off-road scooters). Our base in Luchon is now firmly on the map of outdoor adventure destinations being the base for a wide range of activities. With the river Garonne for rafting and kayaking, the canyons over the border in Spain and the mountains around Luchon ideal for world class paragliding flights and mountain bike descents. We also attempt an ascent of a dramatic mountain peak which straddles the French-Spanish border. Everyone eventually succumbs to Luchon’s famous thermal baths, where you can enjoy the steam room, jet baths and hydro-massage - perfect after all that adventure.
Skill level: No previous experience needed, but make sure you have fitness, stamina and a head both for heights and the local French wine.
Accommodation: 7 nights in a comfortable 2 star hotel.
Meals: All breakfasts, 6 picnic lunches and 7 evening meals included. |
