< Go Back
South Africa and Swaziland This holiday starts with the Mpumalanga region and the Kruger National Park. It is one of the most beautiful scenic drives in South Africa and is known as the Panoramic Route. You will enjoy views of vast landscapes, and have the chance of getting to know the cosy African Savannah. The roads are in excellent conditon, although you’ll have to travel on dirt roads occasionally. There is 2 days of game-viewing in the Kruger National Park, one of the most famous reserves in Africa and home to the Big 5: Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo. The tour then goes to Swaziland, the small independent kingdom surrounded by South Africa, but other highlights of this journey are the national parks and cultural villages in Zululand. A most rewarding area to see is the St. Lucia lakes near Hluhluwe. After a stay in the coastal city of Durban you continue with breathtaking views of the highest mountains of the Drakensberg, which flank the small mountain kingdom of Lesotho. As you explore the interior of Kwa-Zulu Natal en route to the Drakensberg, you will pass through some charming and very hospitable towns that have historic significance to the country.
