Day 1 | Depart Heathrow on Sri Lankan Airlines non-stop, non-smoking flight to Colombo.

Day 2 | Arrive Colombo and transfer to the Kandalama Hotel. Check in for 3 nights on a bed & breakfast basis. Rest of day at leisure.
The Kandalama is an eco-friendly 4* hotel set on the edge of a large ancient reservoir, blending in beautifully with the surrounding jungle.

Day 3 | Visit Anuradhapura, the first capital of Sri Lanka. See the sacred Bo Tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment. Also visit Mihintale where Buddhism was first introduced to Sri Lanka. |
Day 4 | Visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa and the Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

Day 5 | Climb up to Dambulla Rock Temple. Depart for Kandy. En route visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. The orphanage, the first of its kind in the world, is a unique place caring for approximately 60 abandoned and disabled elephants.
Arrive Kandy and check-in at the Earls Regency Hotel for 1 night on a bed & breakfast basis.
In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth relic and see a cultural show of traditional Sri Lankan dancing.
The Earl’s Regency, is a 4* colonial-style property, located just outside of Kandy.

Day 6 | Enjoy a city tour of Kandy, the last capital of the Sri Lankan Kings. Drive to Nuwara Eliya, en route visiting a tea plantation. Check-in at the Tea Factory for your 2-night stay.
The Tea Factory is an unusual 4* property, set in picturesque surroundings. It retains its original exterior but inside has been converted to a hotel.

Day 7 | Visit Horton Plains, located 7,000ft above sea level. Enjoy the view at World’s End. Rest of day at leisure.

Day 8 | Depart through scenic countryside to Bandarawela and the delightful Kirchyan Bungalow for 1 night on a bed & breakfast basis.
Relax in the gardens, take a walk around its working Tea Plantation or explore the small town of Bandarawela.

Day 9 | Transfer to Taj Exotica Resort, Bentota Beach. Check in for 3 nights in a Standard Room on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 10 | At leisure. The Taj Exotica, right on the beach at Bentota is an attractive deluxe hotel with traditional wooden décor and a relaxed oriental style. The pool has beautiful views along the coast and the gardens lead right down to the beach.

Day 12 | Transfer to Sri Lankan Airlines flight direct to Heathrow arriving same day.
N.B. Daily departures are available but flight times vary, and may require one night at the Airport Garden Hotel prior to departure.
