BANGKOK Guided tour of the Grand Palace and Wat Pra Keow (Emerald Buddha). Free afternoon before the overnight train to Chiang Mai. (B)
Day 3
CHIANG MAI Guided tour of the hilltop temple of Doi Suthep. There is plenty of free time to explore this charming city with its many temples and picturesque markets, including the famous and lively night market.
Day 4
CHIANG MAI A free morning. In the afternoon we have a Thai cooking lesson, then savour the delicious results! (BD)
Day 5
VILLAGE HOMESTAY Today we travel to a typical Thai village 35 km outside Chiang Mai to stay as the guests of a local family in a small village. (BLD)
Day 6
CHIANG MAI Return to Chiang Mai where the rest of the day is free until the overnight train to Bangkok. (B)

BANGKOK Free day.
Day 8
RIVER KWAI A short drive west of Bangkok takes us to Kanchanaburi for our adventure on the River Kwai. We visit the floating market before boarding a train on the notorious Burma Railway. We visit the Bridge over the River Kwai before taking an exciting boat ride up-river to our rafthouses set amongst beautiful jungle scenery, where we spend the night. (BLD)
Day 9
RIVER KWAI Today we visit the War Cemeteries and JEATH Museum in Kanchanaburi before transferring to our hotel which is situated on a small island in the middle of the Kwai river. The rest of the day is free to explore the town or enjoy the swimming pool. (BLD)
Day 10
HUA HIN Drive to the beautiful Erawan Waterfalls for a refreshing dip before continuing on to the coastal town of Hua Hin. Here we have three full days to relax; our hotel is situated just outside the resort of Hua Hin on a secluded stretch of beach where you can horse ride along the shore, watch monkeys frolicking or just sit back and soak up the sun.
