The Dolomites A superb hut-to-hut circuit through classic Dolomites scenery, with some easy sections of Via Ferrata
The Italian Dolomites are amongst the most striking mountains in Europe, tinted in weathered shades of rose, yellow and grey, and rising in steep spires of fantastical shapes. These stunning peaks have attracted rock climbers since the early part of the 19th century, but the landscape is a paradise for trekkers and walkers alike. Our route follows the high trails the locals call the Alta Via, and makes a spectacular circuit high above the famed resort of Val Gardena. We will gaze upon mountains, some well known and others less discovered, with such wonderful names as Langkofel and Vajolet Towers. To appreciate fully the wild and rugged beauty of this place we spend six days hiking from one comfortable mountain hut to the next. Some easier sections take us through valleys and pine forests, other paths lead us beneath the towering rock walls, and frequently we head high into the rocky peaks. Occasional sections of simple Via Ferrata - the famous cable-assisted scrambles found in much of the Dolomites - add extra excitement to the stunning trekking.

If you would like a single room or tent on a particular holiday you should contact the office for details. Where we are unable to guarantee single accommodation you may be able to arrange and pay for it locally. If you are a smoker we ask you not to smoke in your room or tent if sharing. Please note on certain trips single accommodation is not available due to local operational conditions.
